A user can set up an account and establish a prepaid phone account, make deposits from mobile devices and sign up for low account balance notifications. ConnectNetwork sends a text message alert when balances are low to avoid insufficient funds.
ConnectNetwork also supports a prepaid telephone account for an inmate to use by placing deposits on the account from a computer, tablet or smartphone. Friends and family members can place money on the phone account so inmates can process phone calls. The cost of the call is deducted from the prepaid account.
ConnectNetwork partners with Western Union so individuals can deposit money on prepaid phone accounts at various Western Union locations nationwide. The prepaid phone accounts provide inmates with the capabilities to send messages to friends and family through a monitored service that produces messages similar to email correspondence.
