To sell an item on eBay, create a seller account, click the Sell link, and create a listing for the item. Sellers manage their listings from the My eBay page. After the sale, the seller arranges for payment from the buyer and ships the package.
When creating a listing, select the category that best matches the item, such as the Music category under the Entertainment header when selling CDs. Write a description of the item, supplying as many details as possible to ensure potential customers know what they are getting and to reduce questions and negative feedback. Decide on the starting price, type of auction, shipping cost, shipping methods and payment options.
Sellers monitor the auction's progress from the My eBay section. This may include answering questions from buyers, monitoring bids and making changes to the listing if necessary.
At the end of the auction, the buyer receives notification from eBay. If the buyer doesn't pay right away, the seller may need to contact him. You should wait until you receive payment before shipping the item. The item should be packaged carefully and mailed based on the shipping option selected by the buyer. After the transaction, leave feedback for the buyer, and encourage the buyer to leave feedback on the transaction.
