To take a screen shot on a computer, press the Print Screen key on your keyboard, then press the Control and V keys at the same time to paste the screen shot in your desired location. This process takes less than one minute.
- Locate the Print Screen key on your keyboard
To locate the Print Screen key on your keyboard, move your fingers to the top right corner of the keyboard, and find the Print Screen key above the Insert Key. In a typical keyboard, the Print Screen key is found on the same row with the Scroll Lock and Pause Break keys.
- Take the screen shot
Open the page you want to capture, then press the Print Screen key on your keyboard. In some keyboards, the Print Screen key is labeled “PrtScn.” However, if you want to take a screen shot of a specific window on your screen without closing other running programs on the background, click anywhere on the window to make it active, then press the ALT and Print Screen keys simultaneously.
- Paste the screen shot in your desired location
To view the screen shot, open a computer program like Microsoft Word, then press and hold the Control and V keys simultaneously. In most keyboards, the Control key is labeled “Ctrl.” Click Save As to save the screen shot in your computer.
