MSN Stock Screener's default options allow users to screen stocks by market cap, dividend yield, price/earnings ratio, price and analyst rating. Other options include Morningstar profitability grade, Morningstar growth grade, sector, exchange and country.
Users can select up to 43 additional screens on the site in addition to the default options. The site also allows users to search for stocks using popular preselected screens such as high dividend yields, bargain stocks, blue chips, 52-week highs and 52-week lows. For example, the high dividend yield search provides a list of the highest-yielding companies with at least $5 billion in market cap. The bargain stocks list includes U.S. small-cap value stocks with a price/earnings ratio below 15 and at least a 1 percent dividend yield.
