As of November 2015, the iPad Pro has a 12.9-inch Retina display that is fully laminated. The iPad Air and iPad Air 2 both feature a 9.7-inch Retina display with a 2048 x 1536 resolution. The iPad mini 4 and 2 have 7.9-inch displays.
The iPad display enables multimedia viewing that is portable. The iPad screen is designed for touch control by bare fingers and can be switched from portrait to landscape mode. Screens are coated to be fingerprint and scratch resistant. Screens are capable of rotation in four directions.
The first iPad was released in 2010 and included built-in Wi-Fi. There have been over 250 million iPads sold, as of January 2015.
