To scan a document with a smartphone all that is required is a scanning application such as Google Drive or CamScanner and a camera. To scan a document, simply open the scanning application, point the camera at the document and click on the scan button.
To scan a document on a smartphone using the Google Drive application, first download the Google Drive app onto the device being used. Open the app, tap Menu, tap Add New and tap the Scan option. This brings up the scanner interface, consisting of the camera display and a large button at the bottom of the screen. Point the camera at the document and tap the button top scan while holding the phone as steadily as possible. Once the scan is complete, it is possible to crop or rotate the image before saving it.
Another scanning application for documents on a smartphone is CamScanner. This app is available for download from both Google Play and the App Store. The scanning function works in the same way as the Google Drive app, consisting of a camera display and a large button to begin the scan. CamScanner also automatically crops, rotates and enhances documents as they are being scanned.
