Turn your Canon scanner on and confirm it is connected to your computer via a USB cable. Lift up the lid of the scanner and place the document to be scanned facing down on the scanner glass. Ensure that it is lined up with the arrows surrounding the scanner frame.

Close the lid of the Canon scanner, covering the image. Press the scanner?s Start button, then select Windows Fax and Scan. Click the Scan button, then select Scan, and save the image when this option appears on the top of the window.

Set the desired mode or image type from the desired settings, including the color mode, resolution and contrast, choosing your desired settings. Preview the image by clicking the Preview button before you actually scan the image. Scan the image and transfer it to your computer from the Canon scanner by clicking the Scan button. You can edit the image after finishing the scanning process and before saving the image.
