Both the popular DISH Network and DirectTV satellite television systems are compatible with recreational vehicle satellite television systems, as are other satellite television signals if using compatible receivers and decoders. Some RV satellite dishes are also capable of continuing to receive satellite television even while an RV is in motion.
Major manufacturers of in-motion satellite RV dishes include Winegard and KVH. Many in-motion satellite receivers use a dome design rather than a traditional dish to help protect the receiver components and most are mounted to the vehicle's roof. Many RV satellite dishes are designed for placement outside the RV when the vehicle is parked. These dishes are usually significantly cheaper than in-motion satellite receivers.
