A good way to get quality Dell laptop replacement parts is to find and order them by inputting the service tag number typically found on a sticker on the underside of the laptop. This method ensures the parts are original, quality Dell parts compatible with your laptop.
At Accessories.US.Dell.com, click the Replacement Parts and Upgrades category about midway down the main page, and then type the laptop's service tag number in the Service Tag box. Click the Search button to display a list of common replacement and upgrade components for the laptop. If you don't see what you need on the list, click the Browse or Search for Additional Accessories link near the bottom of the page. Use the search feature on the left side of the page to find the part you require.
Most Dell parts are labeled with the Dell part number, a string of alphanumeric characters with "DPN" before it. Type this number into the Search Within Accessories box or browse parts by clicking a parts category beneath the search box. Once you find the required part, click the Customize It button to begin the online ordering process.
If your laptop is exhibiting undesirable symptoms and you're not sure which part is defective, use Dell's online Quick Test to diagnose the laptop. Hover the mouse over the Support tab near the top of the main page at Dell.com, and then click Support By Product. Click the Quick Test button about midway down the page to begin the diagnostic process.
