To find the right cartridge for a printer, first determine the make and model of the printer, and then use the online cartridge-finder tool provided at Staples.com or Amazon.com. Amazon.com sells cartridges for printers online, while Staples sells cartridges online and in stores.
To determine your printer's make and model, check the printer manual, or look for a plaque or sticker on the front, back or bottom of the printer. If the printer is connected to a computer, the operating system may display the make and model of the printer in a list of devices attached to the computer, such as in Device Manager in Microsoft Windows.
At Staples.com, click the Ink and Toner Finder tab near the top left of the main page, and then type the printer model number in the second Search By box. If Staples' system cannot find a matching model, click on the make of the printer in the list near the bottom of the page to begin a step-by-step process to identify the correct cartridge.
At OfficeDepot.com, click on the Ink and Toner tab near the top of the main page, and then use the Your Ink and Toner Finder tool located on the left side about midway down the page. Use the left side of the tool to select your printer make and model, or use the right side by selecting the Printer check-box and typing the model number in the search box. Click Go to display details about the cartridge or to order it online.
