To get rid of unwanted toolbars from any Web browser, locate the toolbar in the add-on and extension menu of the browser, then select the option to remove or delete it. The process takes just a few minutes.
- Identify the toolbar
If you do not know the name of the toolbar or the company that created it, you may have difficulties finding and removing the toolbar. To solve this issue, view and hide toolbars one by one from the View menu until you have identified the toolbar you want to remove.
- Locate the toolbar in the add-on and extension menu
If you are using Firefox or Internet Explorer, open the menu bar, select Add-Ons, then select Extensions. If you are using Safari, open the menu bar, select Preferences and then Extensions. If you are using Google Chrome, open Settings by clicking the three horizontal lines in the top-right corner of the browser window, then select Extensions. Once you are in the Extensions menu, locate the toolbar that you wish to remove.
- Remove, delete, or disable the toolbar
Once you have located the toolbar, select the Remove or Delete option to get rid of it forever. If you want the ability to turn it back on at a later date, choose the Disable option to turn if off temporarily.
