Both CNET and LaptopMag.com have reviewed Lenovo laptops. Overall, LaptopMag.com has ranked Lenovo as the sixth-best laptop of 2015, and CNET ranked several Lenovo laptops with grades higher than 4 stars out of 5 stars.
LaptopMag.com reviews Lenovo as a brand and does not review individual laptops. Overall, the brand stands strong in areas such as design, keyboard, display and value. However, there are some issues with the Lenovo brand, according to LaptopMag.com, including software and tech support. In fact, Lenovo released an apology for selling laptops preloaded with dangerous software, including Superfish, a type of adware. The brand has since released a removal tool to remove the software from these laptops.
CNET has reviewed individual laptops from Lenovo, and some have ranked higher than others. The top performing laptops from Lenovo include the Y50 Touch 4K, ThinkPad X31 2672 and the IdeaPad Yoga 2 Pro. As of April 2015, these units range in price from about $850 to $2,000. Some of the lowest rated Lenovo laptops, with ratings at 3 stars out of 5 stars or below, are the ThinkPad R52 1858 and the IdeaPad Z400 Touch. It is important to keep in mind that some of these laptops are no longer in production but are still available at some retail outlets.
