To reset Windows 8 PC back to an earlier date, move the mouse to the top-right corner of the screen, move the pointer downwards and select Search. Type "Recovery" into the search box, click Settings on the right-hand side, click the Recovery icon and then click Open System Restore.
Click Next on the System Restore window to view the list of available restore points, and select the desired restore point from the provided list. If the preferred system restore point does not appear on the list, tick the check box next to Show More Restore Points to view all available restore points. To confirm the selected restore point, click Next.
To view how the selected restore point affects different programs installed in the computer, click the Scan for Affected Programs button. Click Next again to confirm the selected restore point and click Finish. The computer restarts when the system restoration process ends.
As the restoration process continues, you cannot access any file or program on the computer. If the computer works properly after restoring it to an earlier date, create a new restore point, and give it a title that you can remember when you need to restore the computer to new restore point.
