  2. Access the administration panel

At the top of the web page, click the tab labeled Administration. A second row of navigation options appears.

  3. Reset the router to factory defaults

Click the sub-menu item labeled Factory Defaults. Then, click the button labeled Restore Factory Defaults. The router is reset.

  4. Change your password

Click the Administration tab again. Then, click the Management link in the sub-menu. Enter and re-enter your new password. Click Save Settings to save your password.

  5. Perform a hard reset

If you forgot your old password or the previous steps were unsuccessful in resetting your router, perform a hard reset. Locate the Reset button on your router, which is typically found on the back of the Linksys router. Using a pin or other pointy object, press and hold the Reset button for at least 10 seconds. The Power light blinks when the router is being reset.
