It is possible to remove tags from multiple photos by following these steps:

  1. Go to the activity log on your profile.
  2. Select the Photos option from the left column.
  3. Select the photos that need tag removal.
  4. Select the Report/Remove Tags at the top of the page.
  5. Click Untag Photos to confirm.
While untagging a photo allows a user to remove their name from that picture, it does not remove the picture from Facebook itself; the photo still shows up on the original poster's profile and in their followers' news  feeds.
