To remove a pop-up blocker, close any web browsers, uninstall the program from the Windows Control Panel or the Mac Applications folder, and turn off the pop-up blocker in your browser's settings. When you install a web browser, the pop-up blocker is typically turned on by default.
- Close your web browser
Before uninstalling a pop-up blocker application, close any open web browsers.
- Delete the program
In Windows, open the Control Panel, and select "Programs and Features. In Windows XP, select "Add/Remove Programs." Find the pop-up blocker program in the list of applications. Right click it, and select "Uninstall." In Mac OS X, open the Applications folder, select the program, and drag it to the trash bin.
- Disable web browser pop-up blockers
In Internet Explorer, select "Tools" from the main menu, then "Pop-up Blocker," and finally, "Turn Off Pop-up Blocker." In Google Chrome, open the Chrome menu, and select "Settings." In the settings, click on the "Show advanced settings" link at the bottom of the page. Click on the "Content settings" under the "Privacy" heading, and select "Allow all sites to show pop-ups." In Safari, select "Safari" from the main menu, and then select "Preferences." Click on the "Security" icon in the top row, and uncheck the "Block pop-up windows" box.
