Navigate to Malwarebytes.org, and click on the Free Version Download link. Once the computer downloads the setup file, double-click on it, and follow the instructions to complete the installation process. To boot Windows into Safe Mode, restart your computer, and start pressing F8 repeatedly when the Windows logo appears on the screen. Once the Advanced Boot Options screen appears, select the Safe Mode With Networking option. In case this doesn’t work, press the Start button and R at the same time, type “msconfig” in the empty field, and check the box next to the Safe Boot option in the Boot tab before restarting.

After the Safe Mode becomes active, run Malwarebytes Anti-Malware, and update its virus and malware databases. Click on the Scan tab in the main window, select the Threat Scan option, and click on Scan Now. Once the process finishes, open the drop-down menu next to every detected threat, select the Quarantine option, and click on the Apply Actions button. Finally, close the program, and restart your computer without accessing the Advanced Boot Options screen.
