To remove Internet Explorer in Windows 8, access the Settings Panel by moving your cursor to the upper-right-hand corner of your screen, search for "Windows Features," select Turn Windows Feature On or Off, and uncheck the box next to Internet Explorer. To apply the change, restart your computer.

To navigate to the Settings Panel in Windows 8, move your cursor to the upper-right-hand corner of the screen, or swipe towards the center of your screen from the right edge with your finger.
- Search for Windows Features
To access the search box, tap or click Search on the right side of your screen, and type "Windows Features" in the search box.
- Remove Internet Explorer
On the right-hand side of the screen, select the Settings option, which has a gear icon next to it. On the left side, click or tap Turn Windows Features On or Off. Enter your administrator password if prompted. Find Internet Explorer in the list of features. Uncheck the box next to the program, and click or tap the OK button, which is in the bottom-right corner. When prompted, click or tap the Yes button to confirm the change, and then select Restart Now to apply the change.
