To remove Windows icons, simply hover the mouse cursor over the unwanted icon. Right-click on the icon, and click on "Delete" in the window menu that pops up. The icon will disappear. Use the following steps to remove icons from an Apple desktop.
Click on "Applications," and then click on the "Utilities" folder. Look for and click on "Terminal" to open the command line.
Enter the following code into the command line: "defaults write com.apple.finder CreateDesktop false; killall Finder". Then press "Enter."
When the command window is closed, all of the icons will be removed from the Apple desktop, but the applications will remain on the computer.Learn more about Computer Help
