If the elements in the Control Panel are not categorized, click on Programs and Features directly. Click on Ask Toolbar, and click on the Uninstall button. Follow the instructions to remove it. Repeat the process for Ask Toolbar Updater if it is present on the list.

    Start Google Chrome, and open the drop-down menu by clicking on the button displayed as three horizontal bars. Click on Settings, and click on Manage Search Engine in the Search section. Hover over the Ask.com search engine, and click on the X button to remove it. Hover over the search engine you wish to use, and click on the Make Default button.
