To reinstall iTunes, remove the software and related programs from the Windows Control Panel, restart your computer and download and install iTunes from Apple's website. Before reinstalling the program, verify all folders and files are removed; search the Program Files for folders related to iTunes, iPod, Bonjour and Apple.
- Open the Windows Control Panel
In Windows 7 or lower, click the Start button and select Control Panel. Go to Programs and Features and then Uninstall a Program. In Windows 8, tap or click File Explorer and then the Settings menu. Select the Control Panel followed by Uninstall a Program.
- Delete iTunes and related programs
From the list of programs, find iTunes and click once to select. Press the Uninstall button and then Yes to confirm. If prompted, do not restart the computer. In the following order, remove the necessary programs: Apple Software Update, Apple Mobile Device Support, Bonjour and Apple Application Support. After removing the last program, restart the computer.
- Verify the removal of iTunes
Search Program Files or Program Files (x86) folder for the following folders: iTunes, iPod and Bonjour. Check the Common Files folder in Program Files for Mobile Device Support, Apple Application Support and CoreFP. If you find any of these folders, move them to the trash.
- Reinstall iTunes
As of 2015, go to Apple.com, and click on the iTunes link at the top of the page. Press the Download iTunes button at the top of the page, followed by the Download Now button. Open and run the set up file to reinstall iTunes.
