To reinstall Internet Explorer, go to the Downloads page on the Windows' website, click the link for Internet Explorer, press the download button and run the setup file. On Windows 8 or 8.1, Internet Explorer cannot be deleted. Search and open the Windows Features tab to turn it back on.
- Navigate to the Downloads page on Windows' website
Open your web browser. Go to Windows.com, and click the Downloads link.
- Download and install the software
Find Internet Explorer on the Downloads page, and click Get Internet Explorer now. On the following page, click the button to download the program. Once the download is complete, locate the program in your downloads folder. Double-click to open the setup file, and follow the instructions to complete the installation process.
- Turning Internet Explorer on in Windows 8 or 8.1
Point your mouse to the upper-right corner, and move it up or swipe in from the right side of the screen. Click on the Search icon. Type "Windows Features" in the search box, and select it from the list. Click Settings followed by Turn Windows features on or off. Find Internet Explorer in the list, and check the box to turn the program back on.
