To register for My Healthevet, go to the MyhealthVA.gov main page, click on Register Today under Not Registered, and provide your name, Social Security number, gender, date of birth and contact information. Select your relationship to the VA, such as veteran, VA patient, VA advocate or family member, health care provider, or VA employee. Create a user ID and password according to the instructions, agree to the terms and conditions and privacy policy, and click on Save. After you are registered, go back to the Myhealth.VA.gov main page, click on Go to My Healthevet under Already a Member, and log in.

Anyone who registers is able to obtain a basic account on My Healthevet, which allows a user to record personal health information into a health journal, track health measurements, set health goals and print out a health record wallet ID card. Advanced and premium accounts are only for veterans. Advanced accounts allow veterans to link some of the information from the VA and Department of Defense with their My Healthevet accounts without authentication. Premium accounts require authentication online or at a VA medical center or community outpatient clinic. These allow fuller access to VA and Department of Defense records.
