Rational Rose is a software design tool that is intended for component construction and visual modeling for software designed to be used at the enterprise level. Rational Rose is used by software designers to create a framework model through the usage of pre-existing models and drag-and-drop symbols.
The Rational Rose software was first developed by Rational Software and released in 1994. As of October 2014, the latest stable release of the software program is version 7.0. The program can be used on three operating systems: Windows, Linux and UNIX. Rational Rose is sold by IBM, and it is compatible for operation on Windows Vista and Visual Studio 2005.
