High maximum resolution, large maximum printing size, high printing speed, large total media capacity, a clear display panel, numerous memory card slots and the option to interface with digital cameras directly are features of a high-quality photo printer. HP, Canon and Epson are manufacturers that produce performance photo printers.
As of April 2015, the HP Photosmart C310, Canon Pixma iP100, HP Photosmart D110A and Kodak ESP E310 are among the best photo printers on the market according to review sites such as TopTenReviews and PC Magazine. TopTenReviews rates the HP Photosmart C310 as the best photo printer on the market, due to its high maximum color resolution of 9600x2400 dpi, high black and white resolution of 600x600 dpi, fast printing at 33 pages per minute and spacious tray capable of accommodating 125 sheets of glossy photographic paper at a time. The printer also features an easily navigable 4.3-inch color LCD status panel, and is capable of two-sided printing thanks to its automated feeding mechanism. The Photosmart C310 can also connect wirelessly to a PC or tablet device for direct printing via the accompanying ePrint software.
While other printers such as the Kodak ESP E310 have higher resolutions, at 9600x9600 color dpi, and 1200x1200 black and white dpi, this latter printer can only print at 20 sheets per minute and costs considerably more than the HP Photosmart C310.
