Revo Uninstaller, IOBit Uninstaller and Geek Uninstaller are three free programs that uninstall software from PCs. These programs operate by scanning and removing any files and settings on a PC that are related to a particular program, plug-in or other piece of software.
Revo Uninstaller and Geek Uninstaller both remove programs from a PC without having to be installed prior to the installation of the target software. This is important since some programs must be installed before the target software is installed so that the uninstaller software can monitor all file and settings changes to the computer. In addition to uninstalling successfully installed software, Revo Uninstaller also successfully removes programs that are only partially installed due to a failed installation attempt. Geek Uninstaller does not require any installation, and instead runs off of a standalone executable file. The program also has a built in search tool that makes it easy to quickly narrow down what program or programs need to be uninstalled.
IOBit Uninstaller advertises its ability to remove not only unwanted software programs from a computer but unwanted and malicious browser plug-ins and toolbars as well. Like Revo Uninstaller and Geek Uninstaller, IOBit Uninstaller works by removing both files and settings of a targeted program from a computer, including the registry settings associated with that program.
