Some programs for computer performance testing include PCMark 8, PassMark and Geekbench 3 as of 2015. PCMark 8 is compatible with Windows and offers various types of benchmark testing, including hard drive performance testing, Adobe and Microsoft application testing, and battery life testing.
PassMark offers five test suites with 32 standard benchmark tests for Windows computers. Its CPU tests conduct mathematical operations, encryption and compression to check the performance of a computer's central processing unit, while its Memory tests check the speed and efficiency of a computer's memory chips. Geekbench 3 is compatible with Windows, Mac OSX and Linux. It uses tests that simulate scenarios that occur in the real world to check a computer's performance.
