The process of printing a certificate found online differs depending on the web browsing software and operating system used. Popular web browser software, such as Microsoft Internet Explorer, Mozilla Firefox and Google Chrome, feature a file menu print command that either opens a program-specific or the operating system printing dialog box. Select an installed printer, click Print and the certificate is produced.
Certificates are sometimes embedded online as a picture on a webpage. To print only the certificate picture instead of the entire page, right-click on the picture icon. The resulting menu typically features a print option specific to the picture only, dependent on the operating system used.
Certificate templates are available to print from websites such as 123certificates.com. The site offers a variety of certificate styles for situations such as graduation, sports achievements, birthdays or appreciation. It also provides either black and white or color certificates that can be filled out and customized, in-browser, by font and wording. Choosing to print from the website application, powered by the Adobe Flash application, brings up the default browser or operating system printing dialog box. In addition to the standard 8.5 by 11-inch letter paper size, the website allows customization for other formats such as International A3, A4, B4 and B5.
