Qlik offers customers a free personal license of its QlikView data analytics software and custom licensing price schemes for enterprise clients, as of 2015. The enterprise edition includes numerous variables that affect cost, including the number of users, presence of additional Qlik products, and the number and type of server-side applications the customer wishes to include in the package.
QlikView is one of several analytics programs from Qlik, which allows users to input data from a variety of sources to create custom graphics, charts and reports over a variety of data points according to different business models and industries. Customers interested in using the software for personal uses, such as on small websites that only require single user accounts, are able to obtain free licenses from the company. While a free license offers access to the same core product functionality as enterprise licenses, they limit the user's ability to track and import data as well as access the tool from certain locations.
The enterprise license has no set base price, as the company determines the cost based on a wide range of details unique to each client, starting with the number of users. Other Qlik products function on a token system, wherein the company purchases tokens that allow access through a dynamic and transferable process. QlikView requires a special contract to outline user access. The enterprise license also includes access to custom server applications that help track data more accurately.
