When shopping for an HP laptop, consider features such as RAM, hard drive, CPU, graphics chip, screen size, display and battery life. What you intend to do with your laptop determines the features you go for. More intensive tasks such as HD video editing and 3D gaming require pricier components.
If you are shopping for a 15-inch HP laptop, look for a computer that can give you a minimum of four hours of battery life. If you intend to be fairly mobile, insist on battery life of more than six hours. With regard to RAM, do not accept anything less than 4 GB. If you want to use your computer for multitasking and high-end applications, you want a laptop with 6 to 8 GB of RAM.
On display, the higher the number of pixels, the more content you can fit on the screen. More pixels also means sharper images. Majority of budget HP laptops have 1366 x 768 pixel resolutions. But if you can, select a machine with higher resolution, such as 1600 x 900 or even 1920 x 1080. Higher resolution enables you to view your web pages better and have a superior movie-watching experience.
