PJ Media is an online news outlet that primarily focuses on conservative news, opinions and commentary. It was founded to offer an alternative outlet to mainstream media that produces high-quality, independent content.
The website offers daily news and commentary articles on topics including politics, parenting and lifestyle. Founders Roger L. Simon, Charles Johnson and Glenn Reynolds initially envisioned the website as an aggregator of other blogs but ultimately decided to focus on content created by the website's own columnists.
Prior to creating the website, Simon was involved in an investigation that led to the retraction of a story from "60 Minutes" that was critical of President George W. Bush. This event fueled his desire to create PJ Media.
