You must purchase your own compatible telephone handset to use Comcast's Xfinity Voice Service. Comcast no longer offers telephone handsets, as of 2015. However, you have the option to obtain a mobile phone through its partnership with Verizon Wireless.
You can contact the special toll-free number online at Comcast.com/wireless to get a phone from Comcast. Additionally, you can order the phone directly from Comcast online. As of 2015, qualified customers can get every phone Verizon offers directly through Comcast. Customers must purchase and activate a two-year agreement and use Verizon's Edge plan.
Customers who prefer to use Comcast's VoIP phone services can buy any handset from any retailer as long as it meets the equipment requirements. Good-working handsets that can support touch-tone dialing, have a REN of less than 1.0 and abides by FCC Part 68 regulations meet the equipment requirements.
