To perform a full recovery using the HP Recovery Manager, disconnect non-necessary peripherals, and restart your computer. Turn the computer back on, and repeatedly press the F11 key until the Choose an Option screen displays. Choose Troubleshoot from the list, click Recovery Manager, and indicate your operating system.

Wait for the computer to boot into the Recovery Manager. Once it does, click Minimized Image Recovery under Help, indicate whether you want to back up personal files, and click Next. Once the manager completes the preparation phase, click Continue to initiate the recovery. The computer restarts several times during the recovery; make sure it doesn't shut down or run out of battery power during this process.

Alternatively, you can start the recovery process within Windows. To do so, click the Start button, and open the Settings application. Click Update & Security, navigate to the Recovery tab, and click the Get Started button under Reset This PC. Click Restore Factory Settings from the list. You can also choose Remove Everything, but this option doesn't recover the applications or drivers HP installed on the computer.
