Purchasing a Straight Talk phone from Amazon is done through the website using a Visa, MasterCard, Amazon.com store card, Diners Club, Discover, JCB, American Express or a bank account. In order to make purchases on the Amazon website, customers must have an Amazon account, and bank accounts can only be used for payment if they have been properly verified by Amazon. Once the user has the Straight Talk phone, it can be activated from the Straight Talk website and a plan purchased from the service provider.
Straight Talk is a no contract service provider. The owner of the Straight Talk phone can select a service plan directly from the site. The options include an auto-refill plan that can be set up using a credit or debit card; a Straight Talk reserve plan, whereby a plan can be selected and saved for later usage; a refill on demand plan, whereby any plan can be purchased at any time by using the website or calling the toll free number and providing them with a valid credit card; or a pick up a card option, whereby users can find refill cards at Wal-Mart when they are needed.
Monthly service plans start at $30 but are also offered at $45 and $60. The $30 plan provides 1,500 nationwide talk minutes, unlimited nationwide texts, 100 MB of data and 30 days of service with 411 calls available at no charge, as of March 2015. The $60 plan provides users with unlimited nationwide text and talk time, unlimited mobile to mobile talk time to select international areas, 3 GB data and 30 days of service.
