The OBD-II trouble code P0174 essentially means a lean condition (too much oxygen in the exhaust system) has been detected by the sensor in Bank 2. This code is similar to P0171, and these codes sometimes show up simultaneously, according to OBD-Codes.com.
The code P0174 is not often accompanied by drivability issues, but a person may notice a lack of power, hesitation regarding acceleration and/or detonation or spark knock. A faulty or dirty mass air flow sensor, or MAF, could be the issue due to the use of an over-oiled or dirty air filter. There might be a vacuum leak downstream of the MAF, and some mass air flow sensors in certain vehicles have been known to leak silicone potting material that is used to protect circuitry.
