  1. Access the Control Panel menu

    To access the Control Panel menu in Windows 7, click Start on the Windows taskbar, and then select Control Panel on the right-hand side of the Windows menu. On the Control Panel page, open the Network and Internet link to view your active network connections.

  2. Choose a specific network connection you want to view

    On the Network and Internet link, click on Change Adapter Settings, and then select the network connection you want to view the gateway address for. The active network connection appears as Local Area Connection Status or Wireless Network Connection Status when you click on it. This process does not make any changes to your network settings.

  3. Locate the default gateway address

    In the new window displaying your connection status, click on the Details button to open the Network Connection Details window. The default gateway address is located under the Property column, opposite IPv4 Default Gateway.
