There are online tutorial for using tasks to launch Microsoft Works, listed on sites such as BrightHub.com and Zisman.ca. BrightHub demonstrates how to create documents in Works, while Zisman teaches users to create spreadsheets. Both rely on Works templates to perform basic tasks.
Microsoft Works was a suite of basic word processing, spreadsheet and database applications designed to meet the minimal needs of students and households. It was often bundled or included in new computers, with options to upgrade to more feature-rich versions of Microsoft Office. Each version of Works had more than 200 templates to help the user start a range of projects. Works templates were prominent features of the suite and made using the applications simple, fast and intuitive. The Task Launcher in Works allowed the user to see the templates in a list of programs that were included in that version of the suite, or as a list of templates grouped by task without an associated program.
