Calling a junk removal service such as 1-800-Got-Junk is one of several options for disposing of old TVs. Some stores, such as Best Buy, accept televisions that are smaller than 32 inches for free recycling. Municipal electronics recycling centers also accept TVs.
City-funded garbage removal programs may not pick up used electronics or appliances, but they may accept these items at specified recycling centers. Private recycling centers may be available in areas where government facilities do not exist, but disposal fees may apply. Best Buy picks up many types of televisions for free with the purchase of a new set or for a fee without a purchase.
