Programs such as Microsoft Word and Pages provide templates for documents that require MLA-style writing. Creating a template that students can use over and over again is a simple task and can be done by designing a template that incorporates the MLA style rules.
In MLA-style writing, there are several rules that remain consistent from document to document. Text, for example, must be in 12-point size, double-spaced and in Times New Roman font. Margins must be formatted to the standard 1 inch on every side when printed on 8.5- by 11-inch white paper. MLA headers require the student's last name first, followed by the page number. The header should be located on the top-right corner of the page, about 1/2 inch from the top of the paper. The header differs from the heading, which is the first paragraph on the page. The heading includes the student's name, the instructor's name, the name of the course and the date, according to Tuts Plus.Learn more about Software
