A microSD card is used to store data and memory in technology devices. MicroSD cards secure document files and offer many storage capacity options. Often, microSD cards are used with an adapter that's sold separately to be used with a standard SD card.

MicroSD cards are manufactured by SanDisk and come in different storage sizes to meet different needs, ranging from 64 MB to 32 GB. According to PC Magazine, microSD cards are used in cell phones and smart phones. The size of a microSD card is approximately 15 mm x 11 mm x 1 mm, equivalent to the size of a fingernail.
