The manufacturer of Insignia televisions is Best Buy. It is considered a low-end brand that can compete with the more expensive, well-known brand name televisions.
Insignia was created by Best Buy to compete with brand name electronic equipment. They claim to make electronic equipment that is "dependable and affordable," and by "keeping complexity away" from their products, they can create a great experience for the consumer. Their association with a large national retailer also gives them a closer and direct relationship to consumer feedback, allowing them to continue to improve upon their products. Because the equipment is produced in-house, the cost is reduced. However, Insignia is still considered to be a very low-end brand.
