Make a high-quality certificate on your computer by using Microsoft Word or Adobe Photoshop. While Word offers hundreds of templates to choose from, Photoshop offers a greater variety of tools.
To use a certificate template in Microsoft Word, launch the application, click File, and choose New From Template from the menu. Depending on the Microsoft Word version, you may need to click New instead of New From Template to see templates. Use the search feature to have Word list only certificate templates, and choose a design that suits the occasion. Word offers certificate designs for achievement in sports, holiday gifts, recognition and more.
Once you open the template, fill in the fields to customize it to your needs. Likewise, you can add a company logo if the certificate is for a professional occasion. To do so, open the Insert tab, and choose pictures. Navigate to the folder that holds the company logo, and double click it. You can move the logo around by dragging it.
Alternatively, you can create a certificate from scratch by using Adobe Photoshop. The application allows total freedom in the design of the certificate but may be harder to use. To begin, press CTRL+N to create a new image. Indicate the resolution and the paper size, and click OK.
Some of the tools in Photoshop that you may find useful when creating a high-quality certificate include: the paint bucket, layer blending options, background patterns and the text tool. Adobe offers free tutorials that teach how to use Photoshop.
