The first character in the crying symbol is the colon. Press the shift key and the key containing the semi colon and colon. The colon represent the eyes.
The tear is made by holding the shift key while pressing the number eight to display the asterisk symbol.
To complete the crying symbol, press and hold the shift key while pressing down the number nine. This left parenthesis creates the frown to show that the face is sad.
