Adobe is a free software installed via download from the Adobe website and, as of 2015, it no longer came automatically bundled with laptops or computers. Instead, users can select free or premium versions of the Acrobat software and download them directly from the Adobe site along with a wide variety of other software.
Users can go to the Adobe site and select the operating system which their computer runs. They will then be presented with the compatible Adobe Acrobat software suited to their operating system, which they can download at no cost to themselves. These downloads are available in a number of languages and in a number of Acrobat versions.
Adobe Acrobat can open and interact with all PDF files. This includes sensitive documents like forms and business documents which may need signatures, information transcription and other attention from users. Users can append such changes to the documents by filling in open fields and by leaving comments and notes on the document.
Adobe works across all major operating systems from Windows to Mac. It also boasts a feature called the Adobe Document Cloud which stores all work saved through Adobe Acrobat to the site's own servers where they can be accessed across platforms and accounts.
