Full Answer

The Amazon Kindle Voyage is the top e-reader on the market, according to CNET. Although it has the latest features, including being the lightest touch screen model and having the best contrast and resolution, it is also considerably more expensive than other models. A more cost-effective alternative is the Amazon Kindle Paperwhite (2013), which has a faster processor, more responsive touch screen and better lighting than previous models.

The Barnes & Noble Nook GlowLight received praise by CNET, PC Magazine and Top Ten Reviews for being lightweight and free of advertising. The Nook GlowLight falls short of its Kindle Paperwhite competitor in processor speed and screen resolution. Books from the Barnes & Noble Store are easily accessible with the Nook GlowLight.

The Kobo Aura HD tablet has one of the largest screens currently available, but is also thicker than a majority of e-readers and may not feel as good to hold as the Kindle Paperwhite or Nook GlowLight.
