The iPad Air is the fifth-generation iPad. The device offers an upgrade to the iPad 4. The iPad Air is two times faster than its predecessor and uses a 64-bit A7 processor. The iPad Air also introduces iPad users to the M7 motion coprocessor and MIMO Wi-Fi support.
The iPad Air is the first full-sized iPad to integrate features and design cues from the iPad Mini. The Air is 20 percent thinner, 28 percent lighter and incorporates a 43-percent smaller bezel than previous iPad models. Prior to the release of the iPad Air 2 in 2014, this device was the lightest full-sized tablet in the world.
