The iOS 7 also expanded the functionality of finger swipes throughout the system, including applications that supported it. Backward swipes, for example, allow a user to directly return to the starting point of the application without closing it. Users are also able to use a flick away feature to close an app instantaneously.
The software upgrade also changed the aesthetics of the user interface by adding space to the app folders in the system and adding some cosmetic improvements. The home screen was also improved to use both static and dynamic wallpapers that are infused with a slight parallax effect that follows the users' point of view when the phone is moved.
iOS 7 was first released Sept. 13, 2013, on all Apple mobile products and was last updated on June 30, 2014, with iOS version 7.1.2. The iOS 8 was released Sept. 17, 2014.Learn more about Mobile
