To install a printer, attach a USB cable to the printer and the computer. Download the driver, restart the computer and turn the printer on.
- Read the printer instructions
Consult the instructions that came with the printer. Find the section for the operating system used on the computer.
- Attach the cable
Plug the USB end of the cable into the computer's USB slot. Plug the male printer end of the cable into the port on the back of the printer.
- Install the printer driver
Open an Internet browser, and go to the printer's driver website. Find the download link for the OS used on the computer. Click on the link to download the printer. Follow the install prompts after the download is complete.
- Test the connection
Open a document or photo to print. Find the print option on the drop-down menu on the computer control bar. Click the print option, and wait while the document prints.
- Use a CD
Insert the printer driver CD into the computer CD slot. Install the driver from the CD to the computer. Open a document to print, and find the print function on the drop-down menu. Select and wait for the document to print.
