Install FaceTime by downloading the application from the Mac App Store on Mac OS X computers and by activating the application from restriction settings on iOS devices. An Apple ID is necessary to access the Mac App Store.
FaceTime comes preinstalled on Mac OS X devices. If it has been uninstalled, open the Mac App Store, use the search box at the top right to find FaceTime, and purchase the application. As of 2015, FaceTime costs 99 cents. Once the payment is complete, download the application to have Mac OS X install it automatically. Once installed, FaceTime is available in the Applications folder.
IOS devices include FaceTime as a part of the operating system and do not allow the user to uninstall the application. However, the device may restrict the application. To active it, open the Settings application, tap General, and then tap Restrictions. Turn FaceTime on from the list. FaceTime appears on the home screen after activation.
