The Incredibox website was designed to allow visitors to create a music mix with ease by dragging and dropping various beats and samples. The only requirement is having the Adobe Flash Player installed or using a Web browser that comes with an integrated Flash functionality, such as Google Chrome.
Incredibox has four music mix versions available, each containing up to 20 different samples that are separated into categories such as beats, effects, melodies and voices. Every sample is represented by a symbol, an item of clothing or an accessory. By dragging and dropping these onto the characters located on the main screen, their appearance changes and they start performing the selected sample. By mixing and adding more characters, a user can create a variety of sound mixes that he can record and share via social media.
Every mix version except the first one allows users to individually mute selected characters or isolate their performance. Users can choose between normal mode, which allows full customization, and shuffle mode, which automates the process in equal intervals of time. Users can also peruse the top 50 creations for the last week, month or year relative to the date of visit. As of 2015, Incredibox has 40 million users who have recorded and shared over a million mixes.
